“Our ministry at the nursing home is important, understand that you may not see some of the residents for much longer. When you visit, give them full attention and show them the love of Christ.”

“When the bible says wait on the Lord it doesn’t mean be still. Don’t be lazy or misinterprets God’s word to mean that you literally don’t do anything.”

Sermon

SCRIPTURE: 2 Thessalonians

SCRIPTURE: Galatians 5

-The bible does consist of do’s and don’ts.

-The Lust of The Flesh is basically what you want to do to please yourself. God is not trying to get you to fulfill who you are, he wants you to seek him.

-Here a re a few examples of when the flesh is working (as listed in Galatians 5:19-21) :

  • adultery- voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not his or her spouse.
  • fornication- sexual intercourse between people not married to each other.
  • uncleanness- morally or spiritually impure
  • lasciviousness- feeling or revealing an overt and often offensive sexual desire.
  • idolatry- worship of idols. extreme admiration, love, or reverence for something or someone.
  • witchcraft- the practice of magic, especially black magic; the use of spells and the invocation of spirits.
  • hatred- intense dislike or ill will.
  • variance- the state or fact of disagreeing or quarreling.
  • emulations- ambition or endeavor to equal or excel others
  • wrath- extreme anger
  • strife- angry or bitter disagreement over fundamental issues; conflict.
  • sedition- conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.
  • heresies- belief or opinion contrary to God’s word.
  • envying- desire to have a quality, possession, or other desirable attribute belonging to someone else.
  • murders- to kill someone.
  • drunkenness- the state of being intoxicated; intoxication.
  • revellings- to indulge in boisterous festivities. Parties.

-People who are involved in any of the things listed above (and the such like) will not inherit the kingdom of God.

-As Christians you shouldn’t be hating anyone.

-It’s common sense that Christians should not be in the club.

-There are certain things that you can’t do and be a believer.

SCRIPTURE: 2 Peter 1

-Are you a christian or not? Do you trust God or not?

-When you walk in faith that means you are trusting God with your life.

SCRIPTURE: Romans 10

SCRIPTURE: 1 Peter 1

-How well do you know your brothers and sisters in Christ? Are you diligently making an effort to reach out and fellowship.

– You can’t use “I don’t know people” as an excuse not to communicate to others.

-Open yourself to be moved by God. God is helping you to become a better you for someone else. Think about that.

-You being obedient to the gospel will make you a better friend, family member, co-worker, etc.

-If you are not trying to be a better church member then you are not obeying the gospel.

SCRIPTURE: 1 John 5

SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 13

SCRIPTURE: Colossians 3
