Sermon
SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 27
-Iron shapeneth iron, how are you sharpening your friend?
SCRIPTURE: James 4
-If you do not control your anger, you have destroyed your own soul.
-Being foolish and upset is a terrible combination.
-You can go to hell for what you say. Control your mouth!
-Don’t say things that you don’t mean and don’t say things just to be mean.
-Envy and jealousy are two things you definitely don’t want in your spirit.
-Don’t be covetous of what other people have.
-Do you use the bible to understand life?
-How are your friends encouraging you in Christ? If they aren’t then are they really your friends?
-And vice versa how are you encouraging your friends in Christ?
-If you find yourself always hearing what you want to hear from the people around you then you might be closer to your enemy than you think?
-Do you choose friends based on Godly principles?
-What and who you hang around affects you.
-Who people choose to be their friends says a lot about them.
-People sometimes get confused in thinking that friendship is their’s not God’s.
-When God truly changes you, other people in your life will see the change.
-You are capable of some pretty atrocious things outside of Christ, don’t underestimate the evil that people can do who haven’t given their life to Christ.
-Most people choose friends that make them feel good as opposed to friends that will tell them the truth.
-Don’t actively chill with “friends” who are sinning against God.
-As Christians your goal is not to make people feel comfortable in their sin.
-No relationship you have should take you away from your relationship with God.
-Know an authentic friendship when God sends it your way.
-Godly friendships are very important.
-Friendship with the world is enmity with God.
SCRIPTURE: 2 Thessalonians 3
-Don’t have company with people who are actively sinning.
