A Serious Walk
Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 11, 1 Peter 3, 1 Timothy 4, Romans 1, Hebrews 3, 1 Peter 2
Reflection:
Communion is not just a ritual—it’s a declaration. When you take communion, you are publicly saying, Jesus, You are my Savior. It’s serious. Coming to church should not be treated like a game. 1 Corinthians 11 reminds us of the weight of this act: it is a moment to examine your life, your heart, and your walk with Christ.
Church is a place of forgiveness, but forgiveness doesn’t mean passivity. In your walk with Christ, you must rid your life of things that hinder your faith. Doing nothing for God is a sin. Sometimes the biggest rejection of God comes from inactivity—your life cannot be someone else’s excuse to remain stagnant.
1 Peter 3 asks a hard question: Is your life evidence that Jesus Christ died for you? In other words, are your actions, words, and choices aligned with the Gospel?
Being a young believer carries responsibility. 1 Timothy 4 challenges you to be an example of spiritual maturity, making decisions that honor God and inspire others. Love is never weird. Romans 1 warns that rejecting God leads to a corrupted mindset, but Hebrews 3 and 1 Peter 2 show that a spiritual career plan and loving actions can position you for impact. Being kind, loving, and obedient is commanded—not optional.
Communion is a reminder: your relationship with Christ is active, intentional, and public. Don’t let the world’s distractions or your own excuses keep you from living out your faith boldly and fruitfully.
Challenge:
Reflect on your walk: Is your life a declaration that Jesus is your Savior?
Take communion with intention—prepare your heart, cleanse your mind, and honor God.
Love people intentionally. Be an example of Christ in every area of your life.
