Scriptures: Matthew 12, Colossians 4, Psalms 66, Proverbs 22, Matthew 4, Deuteronomy 8, Psalms 119, 2 Corinthians 6
Reflection:
It’s a sobering truth: just because you care about someone doesn’t mean they are on your side. Matthew 12 reminds us that foes may even be found within our own households. Spiritual discernment is crucial. When you are not saved, you are actively choosing a side—whether consciously or unconsciously.
Colossians 4 teaches us that who you used to be does not define who you are now. Your past mistakes or failures do not have to dictate your current walk with God. Sometimes the challenges or “bad things” in your life are designed by God for your growth, as Psalms 66 reminds us. God has chosen sides—He is against those who act wickedly—but He works all things for good for those who follow Him.
Proverbs 22 urges us to evaluate our spiritual posture. Why are some of God’s commands uncomfortable? Where are we hesitating, and what does that reveal about our faith and obedience? Matthew 4 cautions us to pray according to God’s will, not for things that distract from His purpose.
Deuteronomy 8 calls for self-reflection: how has your thinking changed? Psalms 119 encourages a careful evaluation of what you’ve been praying for and what you’ve been seeking. Are your prayers aligning with God’s will, or are they merely personal desires?
2 Corinthians 6 challenges us to deal directly with sin. You cannot overcome guilt until you confront wrongdoing and seek repentance. Set spiritual goals for openness, honesty, and deeper alignment with God’s Word.
Challenge:
Examine your spiritual allegiances: are you standing on God’s side or swayed by the world?
Reflect on past behaviors without judgment—your past does not define your future.
Evaluate your prayers and actions: are they consistent, intentional, and aligned with God’s will?
Set goals for openness, accountability, and honest spiritual growth.
