Words, Worship, and the Weight of Obedience

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 11, 2 Timothy 3, 1 Timothy 4, Jeremiah 37

Communion: A Reminder We Must Keep

As believers, there are things that you have to KEEP doing. Communion is not a ritual—it is a discipline.
It is the moment where you remind yourself of the love that God has for you.
That is literally what communion is for.

1 Corinthians 11 gives a sobering warning:
You physically could do something in the wrong spirit and suffer consequences because of it.
This is why playing with God is a serious offense.
Yes—God does heal.
But He can also cause damage when we disrespect the sacred.

And you must ask yourself:
Do you think church is more serious to some folks than others?
Is church more serious to them than it is to you?

Sermon: Death & Life Are in the Power of the Tongue

The Bible makes it clear:
Death and life are in the power of the tongue.
So the question becomes—What does your voice say?

Speaking positive things while living a negative life is counterproductive.
God is not impressed with optimism without obedience.

2 Timothy 3 reminds us:
All scripture is given by the inspiration of God.
Not culture.
Not emotions.
Not trends.

Just because something is legal doesn’t mean it is spiritually right.
Your doctrine should be based on the Word of God, not the world.

There are not a lot of accidents in life.
Your choices reveal your influences:
What words guide you to do what you do?

Are You Spiritually Out of Shape?

1 Timothy 4 confronts a modern problem:
Most folks want something to feel emotions about—but not something to feel devotion about.

A believer who is emotionally active but spiritually inactive is spiritually out of shape.

Jeremiah 37 teaches an important truth:
It’s good to pray for others—but “others also need to align themselves with God.”

The question then becomes:
Is the Lord leading you or not?
Because if He isn’t, someone else is.

There is a lot of false teaching in this world that sounds positive but is really negative—motivational poison packaged as inspiration.

Stop trying to be liked…
and be obedient.

Obedience Isn’t Optional

Truth is—bad things do happen to good people.
Following God has never meant avoiding pain.
It means walking with purpose through it.

So ask yourself:

  • What’s God telling you to do?

  • What’s God wanting you to do?

  • Do you know?
    Or are you ignoring conviction?

Because delaying and waiting to do what God has asked you to do can also have its ramifications.

Obedience delayed is obedience denied.

Challenge:

  • Take communion seriously and remember God’s love constantly.

  • Align your words with the life you live.

  • Reject doctrine based on emotion and return to doctrine based on Scripture.

  • Strengthen your spiritual condition with devotion, not just emotion.

  • Evaluate who or what is leading you.

  • Obey God without delay.
