Forgiveness, Time, and the Cost of Every Choice
Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 11, 2 Timothy 3, James 4, Haggai, Ephesians 5, Jeremiah 12
Communion Is About Truth, Not Assumption
Communion is sacred, and 1 Corinthians 11 reminds us that it must be approached with seriousness and honesty.
Forgiveness is not automatic, meaning you are not forgiven just because you want to be.
You must confess and repent.
Communion is about forgiveness, surrender, mercy—but most importantly truth.
Truth about who God is.
Truth about who we are.
Truth about what needs to change.
And be careful with assumptions:
You may THINK you know why people are sick or have died—but it’s highly likely you don’t.
God’s judgments and purposes are not ours to assign.
So the question becomes personal:
Do you actually approach God and communion the right way?
Or are you rushing through something holy without reflection?
Even deeper:
Do you really want to be forgiven, or do you just NOT want to have consequences for your behavior?
Priorities Reveal Allegiance
Here is a statement that reframes everything:
It’s more important where you go to church than where you work.
Work may pay your bills—but worship shapes your soul.
2 Timothy 3 reminds us that spiritual drift doesn’t happen overnight; it happens when priorities slowly shift.
So ask yourself:
What’s God’s next step for you?
James 4 and Haggai press us to examine our investments:
Your time is your treasure.
Where you spend it reveals what you value.
And understand this clearly:
The will of God is NOT based upon your will.
Christianity Requires Ongoing Investment
Christian living cannot be seasonal or convenient.
Christians should not ONLY do things for people on Wednesday & Sunday.
Being a Christian means investing your energy and your time—consistently, intentionally, daily.
Ephesians 5 reminds us to walk wisely, because the Devil always provides opportunities.
Not every open door is from God.
That’s why this warning matters:
Don’t take every opportunity just because it’s presented to you.
Preparation Comes Before Opportunity
Jeremiah 12 teaches a sobering truth:
When the opportunity strikes, it’s too late to prepare.
Preparation happens beforehand—in prayer, obedience, discipline, and faithfulness.
And here is the reality of life in Christ:
Every choice is a trade.
You are always exchanging something for something else.
So choose wisely—and remember:
Don’t regret Godly choices.
Obedience never leads to loss, even when it costs you in the moment.
A Final Warning and Call
Many people today are spiritually drifting—
Most people are spiritually homeless.
They attend church but don’t belong to truth.
They speak faith but don’t live commitment.
And one last warning must be stated plainly:
Do not lie on God.
Don’t blame Him for choices He didn’t lead.
Don’t attach His name to your will.
Challenge
Examine how you approach communion—with truth and repentance.
Seek forgiveness, not just relief from consequences.
Treat your time as sacred currency.
Stop limiting Christian living to church services.
Discern opportunities instead of chasing them.
Prepare spiritually before opportunity arrives.
Make trades that honor God—and never regret obedience.
