Sermon

Three “S’s”: Song, Scripture, Situation

Choose one of the songs that you can pull a scripture reference from and choose a situation in life that you can apply the lyrics to:

  1. He Paid a Debt
  2. Be Bold, Be Strong (Scripture reference: Joshua 1:9)
  3. Praise Him
  4. God is the Strength of My Heart
  5. At The Cross
  6. Rock of Ages

Example Situation – Talking to a family member who doesn’t want anything to do with church can sometime make you feel uncomfortable talking to them about Christ. Don’t let anyone’s mean words keep you from shining your light for Christ and sharing his word. Another example could be of you simply not being bold around people that you might not know that well. Don’t be ashamed to talk about God regardless of if you know the person or not. God can give comfort and strength in times of anxiety. You can lose your opportunity to share God’s word if yo don’t even know it.

Additional Song Selections:

  • Thank you Lord (Scripture reference: Psalm 103:1-5)
  • O How He Loves
  • Bigger Than My Situation
  • Stand Up and Cheer for Jesus
  • Trip Lee – Billion Years

Concluding Questions:

What is it about a little child that we need to use as an example for getting into the kingdom of heaven?
