Communion
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 3
-When it comes down to it it’s not about how smart you are, it’s about whether or not you have the spirit of God and are obedient to him.
-Big words are not going to save you.
-Some of the worlds most popular people say the dumbest things about God.
-You have to be foolish to think that you are just an accident.
-Just because you can do something doesn’t mean that you should do it.
-Open your heart up to Christ.
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 11
-A lot of times people are running away from God, not God running away from people.
-You have access to a savior that loves and cares for you.
-When you take communion don’t let your mind be distracted, stay in the moment.
-Don’t wait until your homeless to be thankful for what you have. Don’t take the blessings from the Lord for granted.
-Don’t forget how you got where you are.
-If it wasn’t for God none of us would be here.
-Don’t let guilt keep you from freedom.
-Judge yourself, are you doing the things that are pleasing to God or not?
Sermon
Scripture: Romans 12
-Be not conformed to this world.
-Most people do not come to church to change, they come to feel comfortable.
-Every time you attend church should not just feel like another week doing the same thing. Grow in Christ!
-How have you transformed since you’ve given your life to Christ? How are you better (in comparison to the old you)?
-You should not hold on to the same mindset and feelings you had prior to being saved.
-The way you feel and the stuff you say, is it a reflection of Christ?
-Stop putting your commitments off in Christ! Do what you set out to do!
Scripture: Colossians 3
-Control your anger
-Some people will call you everything but a Child of God. Control your mouth and emotions!
Scripture: Ephesians 4
-Don’t go back to the old man that you used to be.
-Be real with people. Be true with people. Be honest.
-Do you have a “bad side”?
-Don’t let the fact that you are angry be an open invitation to the devil.
