A Life Worth Thanking God For
Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 5, John 3, John 10, 1 Thessalonians 1, 2 Corinthians 1, 2 Corinthians 12
Reflection:
When God has been good to you, say thank you more than once.
Gratitude should not be an occasional gesture—it should be a lifestyle. Say thank you more often, and say I love you more often. A heart full of gratitude is a heart that remembers where its blessings come from.
1 Thessalonians 5 teaches us to be right and true in God. There’s no room for bitterness, complaining, depression, or constant unhappiness when you truly understand what God has done for you. A grateful spirit can’t coexist with a murmuring one.
Ask yourself:
Will you only do the right thing as long as you can get away with it?
Do you only serve when someone’s watching, or are you faithful because God is worthy of it?
A Life with Purpose
In John 3 and John 10, Jesus reminds us that He came so we might have life, and have it more abundantly.
But here’s the truth: If you are not appreciative of the life you have in God, then it might not be a life in God.
Do you have a life with purpose right now?
Are you trying to appeal more to a world calendar than to a Godly scale?
An abundant life is not measured by what you collect—it’s measured by what you contribute. God’s people are meant to live with meaning, service, and joy.
Reputation and Reflection
1 Thessalonians 1 reminds us to think about your reputation. What do people see when they look at your life? Do they see consistency, peace, and faith—or complaint, pride, and distraction?
2 Corinthians 1 and 2 Corinthians 12 teach that service to God begins with humility. Have an attitude to want to do service for the Lord. A Christian who refuses to serve is a believer out of alignment.
Obedience, gratitude, and purpose are all connected. The more thankful you are, the more you’ll want to give. The more you give, the more your faith matures.
Challenge:
Thank God daily—say it, mean it, and live it.
Stop murmuring and start moving in joy.
Make sure your life is abundant in Christ, not just about Christ.
Focus your calendar on eternal things, not worldly ones.
Serve God with gratitude and excellence.
