Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life

Scriptures: Joshua 1, Romans 8:28, Matthew 6, Matthew 19, James 4

Reflection:

Your mindset shapes your spiritual journey. Joshua 1 reminds us that God calls us to courage, strength, and resilience. It’s time to re-evaluate how you think about failure—and even success. Living for God is not always easy, and if it’s hard for you, then it’s a signal to grow stronger, to push past comfort, and to rise above the temptation to normalize sin.

Romans 8:28 assures us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him. But this requires intentionality. Ask yourself: in your everyday life, do you truly seek first the Kingdom of God? Are your actions building His Kingdom, or are you making choices that remove you from Him?

Matthew 6 and Matthew 19 remind us that being chosen by God is more important than being picked by the world. Investments in God matter—prayer, obedience, sacrifice, service. The real measure of success is not how much the world recognizes you, but how faithfully you pursue God. Have you denied yourself for His glory? Have you sacrificed temporary pleasures for eternal gain?

James 4 challenges us to reflect on our spiritual diligence. Are you content with doing just enough, settling for a “D” in your spiritual growth, or are you striving for excellence in faith, obedience, and service? The choices you make today impact your eternity.

Challenge:

  • Examine your mindset toward failure and success. Are you thinking in worldly terms or Kingdom terms?

  • Seek God first in all you do, and measure your choices against His Word.

  • Invest in the Kingdom: give, serve, and prioritize obedience over comfort.

  • Deny yourself regularly, and evaluate whether your actions are bringing glory to God.
