SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 23, 27, & 29
-Don’t get involved with drinking, and be careful around drunk people.
-When someone is lazy they have all of the excuses in the world about why they can’t get to work.
-What you say can cause problems. You’ve heard the phrase “sticks and stones can hurt my bones but words can never hurt me”, bu that is exactly true.
-Your mouth can send you to hell. What you say can cause you big trouble.
-What comes out of people’s mouths does make a difference. What comes out of your mouth indicates something that is in your heart.
-Are you using your words to uplift people or tear them down?
-How do you respond when you get mad? Are you able to control your tongue when you are upset?
-Don’t resort to lying to attempt to get advantage or to try and get out of a situation. Tell the truth.
-People will lie on you and lie to you. Don’t be a liar.
SCRIPTURE: James 4
– Be careful about talking about what you want and your plans to much, because tomorrow is never promised.
-Life is short, what are you spending your time doing?
-When you die what will your life mean? Or better yet what will people be able to say about you in Christ?
-Are you more focused on your personal hobbies and goals or living for God?
-God does not want you to make a bunch of plans without involving him.
-Do you consider your life to be your own or are you God’s child?
-Are you seeking out more opportunities to seek God?
-If you know something good to do and choose not to do it, that is considered sin.
-Some people believe they are called to go on mission outside of the country but what are you doing in your own home, community, or city?
-Step 1 to understanding Gods will for your life: When you know to do good…DO IT!
