Be an Example While You Still Can

Scriptures: 1 Timothy 4, Psalms 119, Psalms 51, Psalms 37, Deuteronomy 28

The Call to Be an Example

1 Timothy 4 gives a direct command, not a suggestion:
You need to be an example of a believer in this world!

This world does not need more opinions about God—it needs visible obedience. And there’s a sobering truth that often gets ignored:
Realize that at some point the warnings will stop.

God warns, corrects, and convicts—but there comes a time when silence replaces instruction. That’s why it matters now how you respond.

So ask yourself honestly:
Are you talking about God only, or are you also walking with God?

Is God the Main Dish?

Psalms 119 challenges priorities:
Is God the main dish on your plate?
Or is He treated like a side item—important, but optional?

Scripture calls for more than surface-level belief.
Do an examination and an evaluation of your own life.

And Psalms 51 reminds us that repentance begins internally before it ever shows externally.

Character Cannot Be Compartmentalized

Here’s a truth that cuts through excuses:
If you are NOT a good husband, then you are NOT a good daddy.

God does not separate faith from responsibility. You cannot be faithful in public and careless in private.

And don’t fall into this dangerous trap:
Don’t fall into the trap of believing someone is “good” because they are good to YOU.

Salvation is not based on selective kindness.
Don’t be confused on what it means for people to be saved.

Because an actively saved person does not have a bad heart.

Watch Who You Walk With

Psalms 37 gives clarity:
You can tell where your steps are by who you walk with!

Your direction is revealed by your associations.
So pause and ask:
Look at your life right now—is it in order?

Because at the root of many problems is this reality:
A selfish soul is a selfish soul.

Obedience Is the Standard

Deuteronomy 28 removes all ambiguity:
Obedience to God is NOT extra credit—it’s the answer key.

Obedience is not advanced Christianity.
It is Christianity.

And when you’ve truly encountered God’s mercy—
If you’ve experienced God’s mercy and grace, then you realize just how much people need Him.

That awareness should move you outward, not inward.

Final Warning and Encouragement

Don’t let your world pursuits keep you from Christ.
Careers, goals, success, and comfort can quietly replace devotion if you’re not careful.

This is a call to live intentionally:

  • Walk with God, don’t just talk about Him

  • Keep God as the main dish

  • Examine your heart regularly

  • Align your relationships with your direction

  • Treat obedience as essential, not optional

Because when the warnings stop, the consequences speak.
