Which Direction Are You Really Going?

Scriptures: Psalms 119, 2 John 1, Titus 2, Psalms 51, Proverbs 3, Ephesians 5, 1 Corinthians 15

Talking About God vs. Walking With God

Psalms 119 opens with a simple but searching question:
Look at your life. Are you headed towards or away from God?

It’s easy to talk about faith.
It’s much harder to live it.

Anybody can talk about God, but it does not mean that everybody is walking with God.
2 John 1 and Titus 2 both make it clear—truth must be lived, not just discussed.

Emotion Is Not the Same as a Right Heart

Here’s a needed reminder:
Your heart needs to be right.
And hear this clearly—
Just because you are emotionally moved by something does not mean your heart is right.

Emotions can stir you.
Conviction transforms you.

That’s why Psalms 51 calls us to pray honestly:
“Create in me a clean heart, O God.”
Check your heart and ask the Lord to make it pure.

And understand this—
Growth doesn’t mean that you keep doing the same wrong things.
Real growth produces real change.

Who Is Directing Your Life?

Proverbs 3 asks a crucial question:
Is God REALLY directing you to do what you do?

Ephesians 5 reminds us that one of the most valuable things you have in your life is time.
Time reveals priorities.
Time exposes devotion.

So ask yourself honestly:
What is your next step? What is your next step IN GOD?

Are you busy with activity—or are you busy in God?

Faith Should Be Visible

Here’s a sobering truth from 1 Corinthians 15:
A lot of people talk about God but very few actually live for Him.

If God is truly with you, then someone should be able to see Him on your calendar.
Faith shows up in schedules, commitments, and choices.

And don’t overlook this encouragement:
Sometimes “No’s” could be the greatest “yes” for your spirit.
God’s refusals are often protection.

Challenge

  • Examine the direction of your life—toward God or away from Him.

  • Separate emotional reactions from genuine heart change.

  • Stop repeating the same wrong patterns under the label of “growth.”

  • Let God direct your decisions, not just bless them afterward.

  • Guard your time as a sacred resource.

  • Make sure your faith is visible in how you live, not just what you say.
