Scripture: Psalms 103

-How will people know that you serve God if he doesn’t get the best of what you have?

-Don’t wait until something tragic happens to you to come to God. Go to God now!

-Think about the songs you hear (and hopefully participate in) during worship, do the words impact you?

-Give full effort worshiping to someone else’s song just as much as you give on your song.

-Regardless of what you deem to be your talent level. Give full effort!

-If you’re going to serve God you have to be real.

-There are so many things that God is doing for you…and you might be taking it for granted.

-Be serious when you approach God.

Scripture: Luke 13

-What are your New Year’s resolutions and do they involve God?

-What in your life do you need to change to be better? Don’t wait, do the things that you need to do to be a better person!

-Are you closer to the Lord today than you were last year?

-Don’t renege your commitments to God.

-You’re not here to just take up space. You’re not here to just receive. Your here to give and make a difference in Christ!

-If you’re getting older and doing less for God then something is wrong with your tree.

Scripture: Malachi 1 & 2

Common excuse people give concerning their commitment to God:

  • “I don’t believe in God.”
  • “It’s a matter of opinion.”
  • “What you perceive is not what I perceive.”
  • “It’s no big deal.”
  • I don’t believe what you believe.”
  • “At least I showed up.”
  • “All religions are the same.”
  • “Everybody has a right to their own opinion.”
  • “The facts disprove God’s existence.”
  • “I’ll get to it later.”
  • “How is this going to profit my life.”
  • “It’s okay If I miss today, I have something more important.”
  • “Why are you practicing so hard, no one will discover you singing in church.”
  • “That’s what those real religious people do. We are not that religious.”
  • “I don’t get into it that deeply.”
  • “At least I’m in church.”
  • “God is still working on me.”

-Don’t just show up to church be active at church.

-People love God benefiting them yet they don’t want to be beneficial to God…

-God does not like to hear people complaining…especially about doing church work.

-Are you giving unacceptable worship?
