Faith, Feelings, and Who Really Rules Your Life

Scriptures: Hebrews 11, 1 John 3, Galatians 5, Matthew 6, Ezekiel 18, Proverbs 11, Proverbs 20, Proverbs 16, Proverbs 18

Do You Even Understand Faith?

Hebrews 11 defines faith—but many people still misunderstand it.

So ask yourself:
Do you have a corrupted definition of faith?

Faith is not just belief.
Faith is not just emotion.
Faith is obedience in action.

And while this is true—
Your feelings matter—they cannot lead your faith.

Because here’s a powerful truth:
If you have a religion that you can’t feel, then that religion is not real.

But at the same time, feelings alone are not proof of truth. They must align with God’s will.

That’s why the call is simple and direct:
Don’t just TALK about it—WALK about it.

Check Your Anger

Galatians 5 challenges us to evaluate our reactions:

Are you angry at the right things?

And even more specifically:
Are you mad at the people who have called you out on the sin more than the sin you’ve committed itself?

That kind of response reveals misdirected priorities.

Conviction is meant to correct you—not offend you.

You Cannot Serve Two Masters

Matthew 6 makes it plain:
NO man can serve two masters.

So here are three questions you need to answer honestly:

  1. What is God going to do next in your life?
  2. What are you going to do next in your life for the Lord?
  3. Do you even know what God is doing in your life right now?

Because reality is this:
Who is your master?

Your choices answer that question every day.

God’s Will vs. Your Will

Ezekiel 18 and Proverbs bring this into focus:

While YOU might be happy, God may NOT be pleased with you.

That’s the difference between self-led living and God-led living.

So ask yourself:

  • Do you think God will accept you compromising on Him?
  • When you contemplate, are you contemplating God for less?

Because at the end of the day:
What’s important is what God says is important.

Your Words and Your Direction Matter

Proverbs 18 reminds us:

When the word speaks of death and life in the power of the tongue, it is not meaning just because you speak something positive into existence that it will automatically happen.

You are not creating reality—you are responsible for what you say.

You are accountable for what you say.

And Proverbs 11 warns us clearly:
A false balance is an abomination to the Lord.

You cannot partially follow God and expect full blessing.

Which Road Are You On?

This all comes down to direction:

Are you on self highway or His highway?

And even deeper:
How much weight does God’s will have in your life?

Because God may be doing something bigger than you realize:

God may have something greater for you. Your disappointment may be an appointment.

Challenge

  • Examine your definition of faith—does it include obedience?
  • Align your feelings with truth, not the other way around.
  • Redirect your anger toward sin, not correction.
  • Choose one master—God or self.
  • Stop compromising and start prioritizing what God values.
  • Speak with accountability, not assumption.
  • Make sure your life reflects God’s will—not just your desires.
